One-degree of separation: Obama toasted Auchi at Rezko's house

Michael Sneed asked April 16, 2008, in the Chicago Sun-Times whether Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) has a "Pinocchio problem" or just a "faulty memory?"

• • To wit: Dem presidential contender Barack Obama's handlers may be telling the press Obama has NO "recollection" of a 2004 party at influence peddler Tony Rezko's Wilmette house, but a top Sneed source claims Obama not only gave Rezko's guest of honor, Iraqi billionaire Nadhmi Auchi, a big welcome . . . but he made a few toasts!

• • Trial file: The name of Auchi, who was banned from the U.S. in 2005, according to court papers, surfaced at Rezko's trial Monday. (Top Illinois businessman and Rezko pal Bill Cellini, whose name has also surfaced at the trial, was also at the Rezko party.)

• • The Quinn bin: Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn apparently is the only one with a good memory and admitted being at the Rezko party, attending late, and welcoming Auchi on behalf of the state of Illinois.

What do we hear from outside of the Chicago media? Well, ABC did notice: "Obama Memory Lapse? Rezko Trial Testimony Contradicts Past Obama Statements."

    Memory problem?

No, it's strategy for the wannabe player, common and trite.

First deny any knowledge, and let your enemy reveal his hand. The more information that comes out, the more you can cloud the issue, doling out little breadcrumbs of half truthful information, ala the Barry-Rezko ordeal.

It's an attmept to obfuscate, using ancient methods of propaganda. So glad to see Barry's PR is innovative, so cutting edge.

Edit for "room 101" .. "He can't remember who they all are..."

He'll just do what he always does. Lie until he can lie no more than discuss it in a sit down talk (not an interview) that he arranges, and then put out little comments here and there to make it look like he was honest about it previously or addressed it.

A good example of this is when he got question just recently about Rev. Wright and he said, "There's been this notion that he was, by various terms, he's been my spiritual advisor, my spiritual mentor. He's been.. my pastor.. and what that means is that the ministries that have built in that church community have been very
    important to me."

    and..

2.) "....also express some comments I think are offensive and contrary to what I believe. I've told him so and I've made a lot of statements about that..."

He's the one that claimed Reverend Wright was his mentor, now he's trying to diminish his relationship.

Since when did he say something to the Reverend? It's hard to believe that if he indeed did this that we wouldn't have heard this from Obama himself. He certainly would have used that to his advantage, don't you think?
