Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.)'s campaign issued a "mysterious press release" yesterday morning, June 18, 2008, announcing "that the candidate 'will host an economic discussion" with Democratic governors on Friday, June 20, 2008, at the Chicago History Museum, "but didn't name who those governors will be."
At the meeting, Senator Obama and the governors will discuss working together to reverse the effect of eight years of the Bush economy on state budgets and looking beyond conventional Washington thinking to develop innovative solutions to the economic challenges the American people are facing every day. However, the Illinois GOP wants to know whether Sen. Obama has invited Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich to the meeting.
If so, it would like to know whether Sen. Obama "will elaborate" on the following "simple questions:
1. Does Rod Blagojevich still have a role with your campaign? 2. If so, what role is Rod Blagojevich playing in your campaign? 3. Do you welcome Rod Blagojevich being a part of your campaign? 4. You returned all of Tony Rezko's dirty money, will you call on Rod Blagojevich to return the $1.4 million he received from Tony Rezko, as well? 5. A recent poll of Illinois voters found that 59% support beginning impeachment proceedings against Rod Blagojevich, do you share the same view with the majority of your constituents?

If you want to see the results of one-party Democratic/Combine rule, you have only to look at what's going on in Illinois. The Founding Fathers created divided government for good reasons. Must... maintain... balance of power...
Patrick Fitzgerald has already put Rod Blagojevich in check mate when poor stupid Rod involved his wife Patti in real estate deals with Rezko. If Rod dosn't plead, Fitz is going to prosecute his wife Patti, and Grampa Mel is going to have to raise the kids. But Rod can always throw his wife under the bus and go to trial. He's such a wimp, I'm betting he throws Patti under the bus.
